It won't be Christmas Without You

Publication date 30th August 2019

About the book
Eloise, a self-confessed Christmas obsessive, can’t wait for the big day. Devoted to her Michael Bublé playlist, she’s organising the school nativity play and even her gorgeous Grinch of a neighbour, James, can’t get her down.
Her workaholic twin sister, Cara, on the other hand, plans to work over the holiday. The sisters used to be close but since Cara moved to London, everything’s been different.
Eloise isn’t giving up just yet. With James’s help and a white Christmas on the cards, Cara can’t fail to be moved by the magic of the season … can she?
My Review
When I saw this book I thought 'Go on, Read a bit of Christmas in August!' And I am so glad I did because it has got me so excited for Christmas and the best thing is that it's not to far away.

But anyway onto the story itself.. I really loved the characters in this book, the two sisters. They had a love/hate typical sister relationship and I could really relate to them so much. They both are so different but similar.

Christmas is going to be a huge change for them this year as its not their usual traditional christmas and I just couldn't imagine how they were feeling about that I'd hate that.

Oh and not one but two hunky men in this! Hubba Hubba!

An absolutely beautiful Christmas read! Perfect curl up reading material for the upcoming winter night's.

Loved it!!!!

About the book
‘No question about it, there are two little purple lines. I’m pregnant.’
After eight years together, Lil Bailey thought she’d already found ‘the one’ – that is, until he dumped her for a blonde twenty-something colleague. So she does what any self-respecting singleton would do: swipes right, puts on her best bra and finds herself on a first date with a handsome mountaineer called Max. What’s the worst that can happen?

Well it’s pretty bad actually. First Max ghosts her and then, after weeing on a stick (but mostly her hands), a few weeks later Lil discovers she’s pregnant. She’s single, thirty-one and living in a thimble-sized flat in London, it’s hardly the happily-ever-after she was looking for.
Lil’s ready to do the baby-thing on her own – it can’t be that hard, right? But she should probably tell Max, if she can track him down. Surely he’s not that Max, the highly eligible, headline-grabbing son of Lord and Lady Rushbrooke, currently trekking up a mountain in South Asia? Oh, maybe he wasn’t ignoring Lil after all…
My Review
Oh my goodness! This has to be the best book ive read all year! It is absolutely hilarious.  The characters are fabulous. The story itself is so current with this modern day. I had my fingers crossed for a certain ending and was extremely happy with the way this book ended. This author is fast becoming one of my favourites! Easiest book I have ever read.  Bravo!

Blog Tour - The Postcard

Publication date 1st August 2019

About the Book
A year after the kiss that brought them together in a snowy train-station doorway, Maya and James are embarking on another journey - this time around the world. The trip starts promisingly, with an opulent and romantic Indian wedding. But as their travels continue, Maya fears that ‘love at first sight’ might not survive trains, planes and tuk tuks, especially when she realises that what she really wants is a baby, and James doesn’t feel the same.  Can Maya and James navigate their different hopes and dreams to stay together? Or is love at first sight just a myth after all… Perfect for fans of One Day in December, Our Stop and Marian Keyes. The Postcard continues the once-in-a-lifetime love story that readers so took to their hearts.

My Review
After reading ‘The Note’ I was extremely excited to read this as I really enjoyed it. Looking at the cover is is bold and really eye catching which instantly makes you want to pick it up and read it. Delving inside and every page was so exciting. I had no idea of the little twists and turns that occurred and I was shocked a few times and very gripped to find out what was going to happen. Maya and James are the perfect characters and I love their relationship they have together.. couple goals. The author has described each of the destinations so well, I found it so easy to imagine these different places and I haven’t even visited them. I really hope there is a third instalment that includes these characters and they are so loveable and I would love to know what is next for them.

The Postcard- Zoë Folbigg

January 2016, Udaipur, India
In a dusty bus depot on the outskirts of a city, Maya and James remove their pristine backpacks and put them down on a vast expanse of dried, cracked mud. The brown ground is fleetingly tinged pink from the sunset and a wind whips up a whirl of dust and feathers. James throws his large grey-and-black bag down in a more gung-ho fashion than Maya – he thinks grime and dirt will make them look edgier, how ‘real’ travellers should look – disguising the fact they started their big round-the-world trip in Oberoi opulence.
James used to do the same thing when he was a teen with white, box-fresh trainers – he’d ask Francesca to jump up and down on his feet, to roughen them up a bit and make them look less ‘new’, to make him look less of a mummy’s boy. Francesca always obliged with more gusto than James intended, and the gentle toe taps and foot presses would inevitably graduate to stamps, painful kicks and James and Francesca coming to blows.
Maya doesn’t want to put her beloved new Macpac on the ground in case it touches one of the many globs of spit there, thick, gloopy and red from chewed-up tobacco, so she carefully heaves it on top of James’. It was an emotional moment when Maya found the backpack she wanted to buy. She and James had gone to the outdoor shops in Covent Garden to get themselves all the gear they would need for the year ahead, and she tried on different styles, as if she were wedding dress shopping.
Too big.
Too military.
Too Bear Grylls.
Too masculine.
Too feminine.
When Maya found the one that was just right – steely grey, sleek zips, and just the right proportions – she looked at herself in the mirror, the long empty backpack stuffed with bubble wrap and tissue, like a koala hugging her shoulders. Aside from it feeling deceptively light, Maya liked how she looked.
I look the part.
Sizing up her reflection, Maya imagined her departed friend Velma, young and adventurous, heading off on one of her trips to Buenos Aires, Paris, or Istanbul, to work in whichever bureau she was to report from. Full of excitement at the prospect of the sights she was about to see, the friends she would make, the food she would eat, the men who would twirl her around, at milongas or in the Moulin Rouge.
Velma would approve of this backpack.
‘That’s it. That’s the one.’
Velma would approve of James.
She took her Visa card out of her wallet and bought her backpack and one James had chosen, grateful to Velma for the inspiration to travel – and the means of paying for it.
So no, Maya won’t fling her backpack onto ground stained with spit blobs that were right in front of where people stood waiting for colourful buses to take them beyond Rajasthan’s jewels and dunes. Besides, Maya put too much effort into her capsule wardrobe to just sling all her worldly belongings onto the floor.
I might have to put my face against it and use it as a pillow.
Crowds jostle, as a brightly painted bus pulls up, bald tyres skidding in the brown dust. A loud hiss emanates from the back of the bus as Maya and James wait beside it, inhaling a cloud of steam and exhaust fumes as they let the locals get on first. James drags and Maya lifts their packs towards the door, where they politely edge up some steps, cumbersome and cluttered, onto the already crowded bus. James hands two thin white pieces of paper to the driver and gives a
hopeful smile.
The driver urges them up from his perch by the door and signals for them to move down the back of the bus.
‘Our bags?’ James asks. ‘Can you open up the side? The baggage storage?’
The driver shrugs, and ushers them on.
Maya steps up behind James and whispers in his ear. ‘I don’t think there is a baggage compartment. We’ll have to take them on with us.’
James looks irritated and pushes his glasses up his nose. ‘There isn’t room,’ he says through gritted teeth.
James surveys the bus. It’s entirely full. Eyeballs look back at him with interest, in silence. There are no wide, reclining seats waiting for James and Maya. There are no wide, reclining seats at all.
James turns back to the bus driver. ‘Erm, I think this must be the wrong bus. We’re meant to be on the night bus to Bundi. Is this it?’
The driver gives a gentle, graceful move of the head and James can’t decipher what it means.
Do we get off?
Do we stay on?
A young man with thick sideways hair and white teeth, sitting in one of the six front seats, stands up to make a declaration. ‘Dude. I love your shirt,’ he says, appreciatively as he eyes the beige cheesecloth shirt on James’ back.
‘Thanks.’
The man looks pleased with himself and sits back down.
James sees an opportunity – the passenger looks more agreeable than the driver.
James sees an opportunity – the passenger looks more agreeable than the driver.
‘Do you know where our seats are?’ James asks hopefully. He shows the passenger the thin white pieces of paper. ‘We have sleeper tickets.’
Ahh, sleeper tickets are up there, sir,’ the man says cheerfully.
James and Maya look to the roof of the bus. There is no upstairs.

Blog Tour - Mummy Needs a Break

Publication date 8th July 2018
About the book
A hilarious story of the ups and downs of unexpected single motherhood, the perfect laugh-out-loud romance for fans of Why Mummy Drinks, The Unmumsy Mum and The Not So Perfect Mum.
With a devilish toddler and baby number two on the way, Rachel’s big dream is to one day go to the toilet on her own. So, she’s surprised to discover that her husband has found the time to have an exciting affair while she’s been bringing up their family.
Suddenly, Rachel is left wrangling with a child who will only eat crackers and a 35-week bump. She knows even Mumsnet isn’t going to solve this.
What Rachel needs is a handsome, good-with-children, single man. But she can barely leave the house without a stain on her top and child on her hip. How on earth can she claim her life back, let alone thinking about dating?

My Review
Oh my goodness! This book is extremely gripping with lots of twists and things I did not see coming and I could not believe they were happening. The mummy parts are totally relatable and there are lots of funny moments mixed with sad emotional ones too. A great easy to read book. I really enjoyed it.

Extract from the book
I flicked through the channels on the television, but the sound washed over me like white noise. I drummed my fingers on the faded black of my overworked maternity leggings. My heart was still pumping as if I were running.
I muttered a silent apology to my daughter, tucked up with her feet planted firmly in my ribs, who replied with a swift kick.
Stephen had done some stupid things in the time we had been together. There was the purchase of a boat that didn’t run, which was still under a tarpaulin in the garage. He’d only started his own business because he’d stormed off a building site over some minor dispute he’d let fester for
months. My reminder that we’d just signed up to our first mortgage wasn’t enough to dissuade him.
But if you’d asked me even the day before if he would chuck away everything we had for a fling with someone else, I would have said categorically not. We had worked so hard. There were men who slipped their rings into their pockets at work drinks and just needed to be offered a halfway-decent
opportunity and the – often clearly misguided – belief they wouldn’t be caught.
But I had always thought Stephen was in the other camp – the stoic, reliable type who dropped their wives into conversation and had cute photos of their kids as screensavers on their phones. He could be charming, charismatic – people liked him. But I knew – or thought I knew – he was loyal.

My Review
I was looking forward to reading this book as I have never read any books from this author. From the minute I started reading this I could not put it down. I laughed so much it is hilariously good. A bunch of brilliant characters and gorgeous location. It really is the perfect summer read. This is one hot read!

Chapter One
My Wedding Day
Your wedding day is the start of a life-long journey, and, like any other journey, it requires a lot of planning. First, and most importantly, you need to know where you’re going and how you’re going to get there. Are you on a one-track path to growing old together or are you planning on making stops at pets, babies or house moves? On a real trip you’re going to want insurance, but on the life-long journey of marriage, assurance is what you need. Are you doing this with the right person? Will they stand by you for better, for worse? For richer, for poorer? In sickness and in health? When your plans are all in place and it’s time to set off on this wonderful, wild adventure, the only thing left to do is pack – but pack light. Unfortunately, on this non-stop flight to a happy ever after, ex-boyfriends will not fit in the overhead storage, no matter how much you dissected the relationship. All baggage must be destroyed before boarding – you absolutely cannot bring your baggage into a marriage. Before you tie the knot, customs will confiscate any and all contraband still on your person, not limited to, but including flirtatious WhatsApp threads and other miscellaneous weaponry. I’m travelling light today. All I have with me is my something old (a necklace my grandma left me in her will), my something new (the sapphire studs in my ears), and my something borrowed (a handkerchief from my mum, which I’m going to keep in the pocket of my wedding dress, because you’d better believe I had my wedding dress made with sneaky pockets). My something blue is (apparently) my best friend, Ali, who is currently lying on the chaise longue at the bottom of my bed in my hotel room. ‘Oh, Lila,’ she says dramatically. ‘Are you sure you want to do this?’
I smile at myself in the mirror. Most best friends are supportive, attentive maids of honour. Ali is showing me her love and support by constantly questioning whether or not this is the right thing to do. I wouldn’t have her any other way though. ‘I’m pretty sure,’ I tell her. ‘I made sure I was sure before I spent thousands of pounds on a wedding and a honeymoon.’ ‘Well, yeah, I figured,’ she replies. ‘But… I don’t know, I don’t think I thought you’d go through with it.’ I laugh. ‘And yet here we are,’ I say, smiling at her. ‘Daniel is… you know, he’s fine,’ she says. ‘Fine,’ I repeat back to her. Just what a bride wants to hear on her wedding day. ‘Yeah, he’s fine… he’s maybe just fine though?’ My best friend hasn’t waited until my wedding day to say this, she’s been telling me for years that Daniel was just too boring to settle down with. I think this is a ‘speak now or forever hold your peace’ type conversation, not that the latter sounds remotely like something Ali would do. ‘I know you think he’s boring,’ I tell her. ‘But, maybe “boring guys” are the ones you settle down with? Take that playboy banker you met last weekend – you wouldn’t marry him, would you?’ ‘Well, someone clearly did,’ she points out. ‘There was a wedding ring in his hotel bathroom.’
‘Was?’ I dare to ask. ‘Yeah, I flushed it down the lav,’ she says casually. ‘I really don’t appreciate being lied to.’
Ali is a real force to be reckoned with. ‘I know you’re only being semi-serious with the whole talking me out of getting married thing,’ I start. ‘But honestly, I’ve thought this through. I love him, we’re happy together – OK, things might not be wild, but I know in my heart that it’s time to put sexy playboy bankers behind me.’ ‘Well, that’s what I do with them,’ Ali says with a wiggle of her eyebrows. I know that Ali just wants me to be happy, but I did consider all of this before agreeing to marry my fiancé, Daniel Tyler, and when I say I considered it before agreeing, I mean I literally asked him for a moment, before I gave him my answer. The
reason for this is because marriage is something I take seriously. My parents, both sixtyfive years of age, have been married since they were nineteen. I might be thirty-one, but I want to marry once, and for life. I had a blast in my twenties, Daniel and I moved in together when I was twenty-nine and now, comfortably accepting of the fact I am in my thirties, I finally feel ready to tie the knot. When some women say they have been planning their wedding for years, what they really mean is they’ve been dressing up in net curtains as kids and trolling Pinterest for flower arrangements as adults. Well, I really have been planning weddings for years… sort of. Not my own wedding and I’m certainly not a wedding planner. I’m a rom-com author and although the weddings I work with may be fictional, I haven’t just planned a lot of them – I’ve ruined a lot of them too. I’ve written ten books now, so it’s pretty safe to say I’ve considered every possible triumph, every little hiccup and every epic fail my romantic yet devious mind can conjure up. So, yes, while I have researched flowers, cakes and dresses, and tweaked them accordingly (pockets! Honestly, this is going to be a game changer), I don’t just know what this wedding needs, I know what it doesn’t need too. Obsessing over what flavour frosting to have is rather silly – that’s just the icing on the cake. What you should be worrying about are the things that are out of your control. I have essentially reverse-engineered every single wedding I’ve ever written, to make sure that my real wedding is perfect. It’s kind of a genius move.

Three sisters, a stash of family recipes, the chance to make their dreams come true…

Amanda is about to open her very own café. She has the pastry sorted, but hasn’t a clue about the plumbing. With the love of her life by her side, surely nothing else can go wrong?

My Review
This book is truly spectacular. Reading this I had a smile on my face from start to finish. The characters are so loveable. I am one of three sisters so I could totally relate to them. It was so good to see the close bond they had and how they were there for each other no matter what. The book is jam packed with delicious recipes - my mouth was watering. I could imagining tasting them all and the book has inspired me to try some of the recipes. One thing I loved about this book was that you could really feel the writers passion for Italy. This book does what it says in the title and makes you feel so happy. If you are looking for an easy to read, feel good book this summer then this is your book. You will just adore every page. Just beautiful!

Nestled in the quiet countryside sits the cosy village of Little Monkham, home of The Star and Sixpence, a renovated pub owned by sisters Sam and Nessie. As the locals welcome the new season, it appears that change is afoot in their tiny community, and not all of it for the better . . .

As Gabe and Sam grow closer, Little Monkham’s latest arrival threatens to reveal a secret that will turn more than one world upside down. Can Sam and Nessie work through the fall out, or is it really last orders at The Star and Sixpence?

The brand new novel from Holly Hepburn, author of A Year at the Star and Sixpence, perfect for fans of Cathy Bramley and Jenny Colgan.

My Review
Just WOW! I absolutely adored this book! It is soooo good! From the minute I read that very first chapter I was hooked. I really grew fond of the characters in this book as they reminded me very much of my own sisters. The location and the little pub just sounded so stunning, I really found it so easy to imagine being there. Absolutely gutted when I finished that last page I just fell in love with this book and didn't want it to end! This book is sure to be a bestseller. It has everything you want in a good Women's Fiction book. Just beautiful!

The Things I Know

Publication date 11th June 2019
About the book
Thomasina ‘Hitch’ Waycott loves living and working on the remote family farm and B&B. But she also wants more. To see the world. To own her own home. To fall madly in love.
But those are fairy tales, and if her life is a fairy tale, then she’s the ugly duckling. Her deformed lip, her crooked limbs and her weak heart have kept her from taking chances. But that’s about to change.
When Grayson Potts comes to stay, he’s unlike anyone Thomasina has ever met. He’s aloof, eccentric and exceptionally kind. He’s also totally unconcerned with the physical flaws that have always defined Thomasina.
The two form a bond that neither has had before. It’s possible that it could become something more, but Thomasina also wonders if it’s too good to be true. By putting her heart on the line, Thomasina may open herself to heartbreak. But she may also open herself to so much more.

My Review
Amanda Prowse is one of my favourite authors so I just couldn't wait to read this. From that very first page I was hooked, I had to keep reading, infact I think I read this book in day - it was that good! The characters really touched my heart. The character 'Hitch' oh my goodness she is an absolute inspiration! She is a character I will never forget and I really loved reading her story.

The thing I love most about Amanda's books is that they are so believable. She deals with so many issues that many shy away from. Not only that but the way she writes them is just outstanding! I am so excited for her next book!
