The Summer of Second Chances

Publication date 17th July 2017

About the book
Lottie is about to discover that even when you think you’ve lost everything, hope and romance can be just around the corner . . .
It takes time to build your life. To get into a long-term (OK, a bit boring) relationship. To find a job (you don’t completely hate). Lottie might not be thrilled with the life she’s put together, but it’s the one she’s got.
So when in the course of one terrible evening, it all comes crashing down around her, Lottie has a choice: give herself over to grief at being broke, single and completely lacking in prospects.
Or, brick by brick, build herself a new life. And this time, with a little help from friends, a crumbling cottage in Devon and a handsome stranger, maybe she can make it the one she always wanted.
My review
The summer of second chances is a lovely read one I enjoyed from start to finish.

The book has an absolutely stunning cover, I just think the colours are perfect.

We meet Lottie, a character thats recently been through tragic circumstances and is now looking a fresh start. When her friend offers her a chance to live in her cottage for a while whilst she gets herself together in exchange for her doing redecorating work in the cottage, Lottie jumps at the chance.

We see Lottie develop a lovely relationship with her hunky neighbour Bryn, as a reader your willing it to go further into a romantic relationship as they both suit each other so well and it would be lovely for Lottie to have that perfect relationship she dreams off and be treated properly.

I was gutted at how quickly the book ended as I just wanted to read more and see their relationship progress, however Im hoping there will be a follow up book and we can find out more.

Overall I found this book so easy to read and made me feel happy when I read it, I just loved it.

I see great potential for Maddie Please and cant wait to read more from her in the future.

Jenny Sparrow Knows the Future

Publication date 27th July 2017

About the book
Jenny Sparrow can tell you her future:

1. Meet soulmate at 25
2. Move in with him
3. Marry him this year . . .

According to the plan Jenny made at thirteen, it's time for her to get married. But when her boyfriend proposes a break instead of a wedding, a girls' weekend in Vegas is the only solution . . . until she wakes up in a stranger's bed, and discovers that this is the year she gets married - to the wrong man.
Jenny wants a quick divorce and her old boyfriend back.
But what if her accidental husband has other ideas?

My review
The thing that caught my eye and made me want to read this book was the really bright colours. I really love the blue and the pink together and I really think it makes the cover stand out.

From the very first page I found myself drawn to Jenny's story. She has her heart set on sticking to this list she made for her life when she was younger, so far shes ticked many things off her list and when she thinks shes about to be proposed to by her current boyfriend she is very surprised to learn it isn't what he wants at the minute.  I felt a lot of sympathy for Jenny as when your with someone you think your going to be with for the rest of your life of course wedding bells should be on the cards and when he tells her hes not ready my heart just sank for her.

It was great to see Jenny let her hair down in Vegas and I couldn't believe it when I found out what she did.  However she heads home again to find her boyfriend has had a change of heart and really wants to marry her after all and from there everything seems to run smoothly.

I was just willing Jenny on through the book to find her happiness and for her to get everything she wants as she is a lovely kind hearted person that deserves to be treated better.

Jenny's story is really captivating and has lots of laugh out loud moments throughout.  Reading Jenny Sparrow Knows the Future really makes you feel happy and really is a feel good book.

With hardly any time for her boyfriend, let alone herself, it feels like there is just too much to juggle. It might be time for Georgia to step off the conveyor belt to find the balance in life and see if she really can have it all…

My Review
Chasing the Sun is absolutely fantastic and has really got me in the mood for summer.

The cover for this book is just perfect for the story as soon as you see it you think holiday mode. It is really bright and bold and very eye catching and it really makes you want to pick it up and get stuck into it.

The thing I loved the most about this book was catching up and finding out whats been happening with Georgia. It sounds likes the perfect holiday for her but what Georgia doesn't know is that it will change her life completely and big changes will be happening for her.

Single for the Summer

Publication date 28th July 2017

About the book
Tess Parks has made up her mind: love isn’t for her.

When it comes to dating she has one rule: after six weeks with a guy, she ends it. So when her heartbroken best friend invites her for a girly getaway in Corfu, Tess is sure she can stick to their pact to stay single for the summer.

But then she meets the gorgeous restaurateur Andras...

To keep his overbearing mother off his back, Tess agrees to pretend to date him. But as the two spend time together, Tess begins to realise that this fake relationship is starting to feel like the best one she’s ever had…

My Review
I really believe Single for the Summer is the perfect summer holiday read.

Two best friends Tess and Sonya who decide to go on holiday together to Corfu and have fun and let their hair down.  Sonya needs to escape as things are complicated in her own relationship and Tess never stays single so she agrees to take up the challenge of staying single for the summer and not date for 6 weeks.  This is a great plot for the story and I was hooked and could not put it down and I wanted to see if Tess could stick to the 6 weeks being single.

However it gets harder and harder for Tess to stay single as not long after she arrives in Corfu she meets a yummy local Andras whom she instantly clicks with and the flirting begins.  He makes a request to her be his pretend girlfriend to get his mother off his back, after much hesitation she agrees and she finds it so easy to be with him and forgets its all pretend. There is so much chemistry between Tess and Andras and its so exciting seeing them together and getting to know each other.  Their relationship is the perfect summer romance story.

Everything in this book is just beautiful, even the location, with every page that was based in Corfu it made me want to go on holiday there more and more.

Single for the Summer is fun, flirty and fabulous!

My Review
The book is about Sophia, she's a workaholic and after she finds her boyfriend with another woman she decides its the perfect time in her life to take a break and head to Italy.

When in Italy Sophia uncovers a family secret that threatens to rock her family, but she doesn't let this get in her way or change her relationship with her grandmother and mother and they all end up growing closer together.

Sophia also meets a handsome man called Joe at the airport and their
relationship captures your from the minute they meet you know they are destined to be together. But its not a smooth ride for them. They both have difficult pasts and hidden secrets, and they are both at a place in their life where new doors of opportunities are opening for them and they have to decide whats next for them whether they stay or leave Italy together or alone.

I really loved the setting of this book and felt like I was being whisked away to beautiful Italy. The descriptions in the book made it so easy to picture the scenes and I just found it so easy and enjoyable to read.

Love at the Italian Lake has everything you want in a summer romance book. So its the perfect book to read while relaxing in the sun this summer.

The last thing Claire needs is the risk of getting hurt, but she soon discovers that Ed has emotional battle scars of his own. Will he prove the worst distraction? Or might he be just the perfect remedy?

My Review
I absolutely love Caroline Roberts books, so I was thrilled when I received a copy of this book!
Throughout the book I laughed and cried with Claire.  Shes a character that has been through so much and is a real strong woman. I have so much admiration for Claire a real role model for us all.

My summer of magic moments sees Claire go on a getaway to escape the troubles of her last few years and try and get her life back on track. She makes a list of magic moments which gives her things to enjoy and look forward too. She also bases her blog for work on these magic moments which become truly special for her and the readers.

During her time away Claire meets a handsome neighbour who she instantly clicks with, and as a reader we just hope that they fall in love and be happy together. But things don't go that smoothly for them as everytime it seems like they are getting there and making progress with their relationship they always end up going back a step.

By the end of the book I think we see Claire as a new woman and it makes me so happy knowing this.  The whole book really makes you feel good and is totally uplifting, a lot of the time I found myself smiling away as I read.

This book really is beautiful and heart warming. Full of emotion, you will need plenty of tissues.  I really think this book will help lots of readers as I feel the topic covered in it a lot of people face every single day.

Overall it is a book that shows us that no matter how hard or bad life gets there is always hope and the knowledge that life will get better, you just need to be strong.

Eve and Jack are both scared to trust, but when they come together it’s impossible for either to ignore their feelings. Can they put their fear aside and learn to love again?

My Review
Summer at Conwenna Cove is absolutely beautiful.  From the very first page I was drawn in and hooked, and I found I just couldn't stop reading it, one minute I was on the very first chapter next minute I was at the end.
The books main character is Eve, from the very start of the book we see her going through a bit of drama and end up at hospital. She needs a break to get away after the terrible tragedy she suffered (which we never really find out until the end what happened to poor Eve).  She has no one to turn to but her dear Aunt Mary who lives in Cornwall, only thing is she hasn't spoken to her in so long.  Eve puts this aside and doesn't let it stop her and makes contact with her Aunt who is delighted to hear from her and is very welcoming when Eve when she lands at her door.  Once Eve gets to her Aunts she gets a warm hug from her and instantly Eve feels a huge weight has been lifted and she makes progress rebuilding her relationship with her Aunt.
Eve's Aunt introduces her to her Hunky neighbouring tenant Jack.  Eve and Jack hit it off and with the help of him and her aunt in only a few days we see Eve grow stronger and become a different woman and it is truly fantastic to see because shes been through so much in a short space of time.
One thing I loved in the book was Eve and Jack's relationship, they had barely known each other long and they were at ease with each other.  Jack is very gentle and patient with her and Jack himself has been through a lot and they both end up helping each other through it all.  I was willing them on to get together as they both seem so perfect for each other.

Oh and I really want to visit Conwenna Cove, the way it is described throughout the book sounds absolutely breath taking.  I imagine it to be the perfect getaway.

Overall I absolutely adored this warm romance. Its so easy and enjoyable to read. Another delightful book by Darcie Boleyn.

Coming Home to Cuckoo Cottage

Publication Date 13th July 2017
Amazon UK
About the book
When Lottie Foster's grandmother's best friend Gwen dies, she leaves Lottie her lovely home, Cuckoo Cottage.  Lottie loves the cottage but Matt, a charming local builder, points out that beneath its charm it is falling apart.  Luckily he is always on hand to help with the problems that somehow seem to keep cropping up  But is he just a bit too good to be true? Certainly Will, Lottie’s closest neighbour, seems to think so.  Lottie plans to set up her own business renovating vintage caravans. She hasn’t told anyone about the project she has cooked up with Jemma from The Cherry Tree CafĂ© to repurpose Gwen’s old caravan and turn it into a mobile tearoom.  But before she can finally enjoy living with her legacy she must uncover who she can trust, and who to avoid. And with two men vying for her attention, can she find love in her new home…?

My Review

Lets just take a minute to appreciate that absolutely stunning cover. The colours are warm and inviting. Very eye catching and that's the thing I love about Heidi Swain's book covers, they are all just so perfect.

Coming home to Cuckoo Cottage is a truly beautiful book set in the lovely village of Wynbridge, a village we all know and have fallen in love with from previous books by Heidi.

This book also sees the return of the fabulous characters that live in Wynbridge that we have met before and it is so good to catch up with them and see what they are up now now.

As well as the previous characters popping up throughout this book, we meet a brand new character called Lottie Foster. She inherits Cuckoo Cottage from her Grans best friend Gwen. Lottie is delighted and moves in straight away and starts planning great things for the property.  Along the way she meets a hunky local builder Matt, however Matt keeps finding problems in the cottage that need fixed, it just seems its one thing after another for poor Lottie. From the minute we meet Matt as a reader you just feel all is not as it seems and there seems to be something not quite right about him.

Lottie catches the eye of her neighbour Will, he seems like the perfect man for Lottie and always looks out for her.  With Matt and Will both competing for her it is a tricky love triangle and its not till the end of the book when we get to find out if and who Lottie finds love with.

Coming Home to Cuckoo Cottage really is a lovely and enjoyable read from start to finish, and from the opening pages the book really grabs your attention and you just cannot put it down! So so easy to read.

The One With All The Bridesmaids

The One with All the Bridesmaids
Publication Date 21st July 2017

About the book

Nora Dervan is ready for her Happy Ever After. With her darling Harry waiting at the altar, and all her family and friends around her. She is certain that her special day will not be forgotten/will be one to remember…
But with her four bridesmaids hiding more secrets, than bottles of champagne. Will her big day be remembered for all the right reasons?
Bea has barely gotten past the fact that her two best friends are dating, and now they’re engaged, whilst cupid’s arrow points in a forbidden direction for Cleo. She is so distracted by her off limits, hot new colleague that she has forgotten Daisy, who has been left dreading the singles table. There’s more romance in the cheesy pick- up lines than Sarah’s own marriage, which hasn’t turned out as she hoped it would be.

My Review

The thing that attracted me to this book was of course that stunning cover that I absolutely adored. The colours and everything is just perfect for the story itself and also very eye-catching.

After waiting for this story to be released as a full book I was delighted as it was definitely worth the wait having all the parts together as I could not put this down.

The One with All the Bridesmaids is full of humour with lots of parts that just leave you laughing out loud and I found I read this with a huge smile on my face. I had plenty of giggles at the stories at the start of the chapters of peoples experiences at weddings I thought they where great.

The story is about Nora and Harrys wedding and the run up to it that includes the hen, dress shopping etc it also gives us the stories of each of the bridesmaids. I loved hearing of each bridesmaids story and their own love life's. Of course when it comes to a group of girls theres always a scandal and there is in this group.

Each of the characters I loved and I wish they where my real life friends as I loved their relationship with each other they just had lot's of fun. Characters like these just make a book and im sad to leave them however I really feel there is potential for a follow up book set in the same style, I would absolutely love to hear more from the girls.

My book of the year so far! A very easy 5 stars!
