Blog Tour - The Beginner’s Guide to Loneliness

About the book

Tori Williamson is alone. After a tragic event left her isolated from her loved ones, she’s been struggling to find her way back to, well – herself. That’s why she set up her blog, The Beginner’s Guide to Loneliness, as a way of – anonymously – connecting with the outside world and reaching others who just need a little help sometimes.

When she’s offered a free spot on a wellbeing retreat in exchange for a review on her blog, Tori is anxious about opening herself up to new surroundings. But after her three closest friends – who she talks to online but has never actually met – convince her it’ll do her some good, she reluctantly agrees and heads off for three weeks in the wild (well, a farm in Wales).

From the moment she arrives, Tori is sceptical and quickly finds herself drawn to fellow sceptic Than, the retreat’s dark and mysterious latecomer. But as the beauty of The Farm slowly comes to light she realizes that opening herself up might not be the worst thing. And sharing a yurt with fellow retreater Bay definitely isn’t.  Will the retreat be able to fix Tori? Or will she finally learn that being lonely doesn’t mean she’s broken . . .

My Review

Oh wow where do I begin, this is a truly fantastic read. The story itself I think over this last year or so that so many people will able to relate to this and feel for Tori. I also feel this book will help a lot of people feel happier with their lives. The way the author has written this book is beautiful and it is so easy to read. There is a real modern feel to this book which makes it feel current and real life.

The main character Tori is a fabulous strong woman, she’s been through so much but still manages to keep going. Another thing I loved about her is how she wants to help people, shes just such a kind and caring person. Honestly I just had my fingers crossed for a happy ending for her.

I am definitely looking forward to reading more from this author as this was a brilliant book. I highly recommend this!

Blog Tour- Home

Publication date 8th July 2021

About the book

Anna Wilson travels the world as a professional housesitter – stepping into other people’s lives - caring for their homes, pets and sometimes even neighbours. Living vicariously.

But all Anna has ever really wanted is a home of her own – a proper one, filled with family and love and happy memories. If only she knew where to start.

Growing up in foster care, she always envied her friends their secure and carefree lives, their certainty and confidence. And, while those same friends may have become her family of choice, Anna is still stuck in that nomadic cycle, looking for answers, trying to find the courage to put down roots and find a place to call home.

My Review

Straight away from looking at the cover of this book I had cosy vibes and I couldn’t wait to get tucked into this.

From that very first page I was drawn to Anna’s story, she is a really lovely character.  I couldn’t wait to find out what way her life was going to go and I had my fingers crossed everything would work put the way she wanted. She really deserves happiness.

The story itself is absolutely beautiful and heartwarming. Every page was just so easy to read, and I found it so hard to put this book down until I read that last page.

I definitely believe this is this author’s best book to date and her books just keep getting better and better!

My Review

From the minute I saw that stunning sunny cover I knew this was going to be the book of the summer! As soon As I started reading that very first chapter I was instantly transported to the beautiful Jewel Island that sounds like paradise and I was hooked on this book. Having read the previous books which featured here I was so excited and it was like I’d never been away. In this book the main character is Lyra and what an adventure she is on after getting a cottage and her new job on the island, its all she’s ever wanted so I couldn’t wait to read and find out what was in store for her. Lyra is such a lovable character and it is so lovely to find out more about her.

Throughout the book there is so many laugh out loud moments that will gave you in fits of giggles. I definitely had the biggest smile on my face reading this. Honestly it was the escapism that I needed right now and is a real joy to read. Such a beautiful read that will make you want it not to end. I absolutely loved it. This is definitely the best book I’ve read this year!
